Good value for young dancers
My 5 year old has danced for 2 years and these are our go-to shoes for her classes. They are comfortable and durable. They even lasted as hand me downs for baby sister to play ballet dancer in. Now that baby sister is old enough to join in ballet classes as well I am returning to buy her own shoes from Payless and the same brand. Good value, pretty color, and durable. My major problem is the laces. They are always coming undone, as others have reviewed - they come loose even after double knotting, so I just got them off. I can't stand retying them over and over again. But thats just me - perhaps a dollop of clear nail polish might keep them secure? Either way they aren't so loose that they fall off or come loose so we continue with these shoes.

Best Value and Quality
My girls ages 2 and 5 have worn these ballet shoes. My 5 year old has had 2 pairs now (1 for each year of dancing.).
Sizes....ballet shoes can fit different than regular shoes. Right now she is wearing the same size as her actual shoe size. I am ordering her 3rd pair today.
The laces don't like to stayed tied (i think this is true of all brands) We just tuck them in and they look just perfect. (Even double knots come undone).

Great slippers
My 6 year old daughter has done ballet for a year now and it wasn't until the end of the year that we had to purchase another pair. The leather stretched a bit as her feet grew which was nice. She wore these at home as well and danced in them all the time. The soles had to be super glued several times due to wear and tear and even the inside was glued as well. However, the shoes were still in great condition. And I machine washed them and air dyed them several times with no problems. Oh and we cut off the laces. they are a pain and there's no need for them.

Ballet shoe
This would actually be a great shoe IF there was a split leather sole on the bottom instead of the the solid sole. Dance instructors want the dancers to have a split sole as it is easier to flex and point the foot. Her dance academy does not allow the solid sole shoes. It is a shame because AB has such high standards. I know there is an AB split sole shoe out there. Wish you could carry the other shoe. The only reason I rated this shoe as I did was because she cannot wear it at her dance studio. The shoe is AB quality just not a split sole,

EXCELLENT VALUE
These held up better than the previous brand we had that cost twice as much! They've stayed in perfect condition. Love them! BUY ONE SIZE LARGER THAN YOUR CHILD'S NORMAL SHOE SIZE
